Westminster Speedway - 2007 Official Rule Book
LIMITED LATE MODEL - Weight Limited: 2400 lbs
CHASSIS:Automotive frames permitted.
Jig frame with or without automotive snout permitted.
Frames may be interchanged.
Wheelbase 14" minimum with 1" tolerance.
SUSPENSION:
Any type allowed.
STEERING/SPINDLES:
Rack and pinion permitted.
Any type spindle permitted.
BRAKES:
Any four wheel disc brake permitted.
Dual master cylinder permitted.
WHEELS:
Steel or aluminum only.
14" maximum width.
Bead locks permitted.
FIREWALL:
Must have approved firewall and floor plan.
Tunnel permitted.
BODY:
Aluminum or steel only.
ASA, flat side bodies, Hav-A-Tampa, and/or All-Pro bodies permitted.
No wings.
Spoiler must be 8" in height and 48" in width with ½" tolerance not to exceed width of quarter panels.
ENGINE PLACEMENT:
Engine and driveline must not be more than 2" from the centerline of the frame rails. (2" maximum offset of engine and driveline).
#1 spark plug of Chevrolet must not be more than 6" to the center of top ball joint.
#1 spark plug of Ford 302 and 351 must not be more than 8" to the rear of the top ball joint.
½" tolerance on the above items noted.
ENGINE:
362 cubic inch maximum.
Cast iron blocks only.
Flat top pistons only.
The dome may be removed from Pop-up type pistons to make flat top pistons.
.060" overbore permitted.
High performance camshafts permitted, rollers not permitted.
No oversized or mushroom lifters permitted.
302 Ford may stroke to meet 362 cubic inch (3.48 stroke).
Chevrolet (3.48) stroke.
Any wet type oil pan permitted. (No dry sump oil systems permitted).
Lifter valley may be polished.
HEADS:
Cast iron ONLY.
High performance valves springs and retainers permitted.
Needle bearing rocker arms permitted.
Stud girdles permitted.
Maximum valve size: Chevy intake 2.050" - exhaust 1.650".
Screw in studs and guide plates permitted.
No more than 3 angle valve job.
No porting or polishing or port matching.
INTAKE MANIFOLD:
Aluminum intake permitted.
One carburetor type only.
No homemade intakes.
No fuel injection.
CARBURETOR:
One carburetor only.
Gas only.
HEADERS:
Any type header allowed but must run parallel to ground.
IGNITION:
Dual point distributor permitted.
Electronic ignition permitted.
MSD permitted.
Racing coil permitted.
FUEL:
Gas only.
Electric fuel pumps not allowed.
Nitrous Oxide not permitted.
RADIATOR:
Aluminum permitted.
FLYWHEEL/CLUTCH:
Any type flywheel permitted.
Any type clutch permitted.
STARTER:
Any type permitted.
Must start under own power.
TRANSMISSION:
Any type transmission permitted.
Automatic transmission permitted.
Must have at least one forward and one reverse gear.
Must have enough linkages to operate forward and reverse from driver seat.
May run any type of drive shaft.
REAR END:
Quick change permitted.
No open tubes permitted.

FRAME & CHASSIS:

Wheelbase of 105" on jig frames or stock for make and model on stock frame cars.
SUSPENSION:
NO coil over springs permitted.
Jack bolts, racing springs, and racing shock permitted (4" min. spring).
Racing lead springs permitted - steel or fiberglass on rear (one type only.
Bottom A-frame must be stock - no shortening or lengthening allowed.
Top A-frame must be tubular, but only be adjustable at the mounting plates to frame.
Any GM or Ford spindle permitted, wide 5 hubs permitted.
Front spring pockets must be in original location.
No lift bars of any type, 5th coils, or birdcages allowed.
Coil over eliminators permitted.
Round tube trailing arms permitted.
STEERING:
Rack and pinion permitted.
Power steering permitted.
REAR END:
Stock type rear end.
May be locked.
No floaters from trucks.
Quick-change rear ends permitted.
BODY:
Any American car except convertibles, compacts, pick up trucks, or station wagons.
ASA, flat bodies, Hav-A-Tampa and All-Pro bodies permitted.
Must be steel or aluminum, no fiberglass bodies permitted.
Must have firewall and floor in drivers compartment.
Spoiler not to exceed 8" and width of quarter panels, Side braces may not exceed height of spoiler.
BUMPER:
Must be track approved.
No sharp or exposed edges.
Bracing permitted.
ENGINE:
362 cubic inches maximum.
Must be stock for make and model 3.48 stroke.
Flat top only.
Hydraulic or solid lift cams permitted.
Lifter valley may be polished.
Headers permitted, exhaust must exit parallel to ground.
Any steel or cast crankshaft permitted, stock stroke for motor.
Stock or stock appearing rods permitted, no H-beam, or billet rods permitted.
Lifter valley may be polished.
Any wet sump oil pan permitted, internal pump only.
Engine may be balanced: crankshaft must appear stock except for drilling or welding for balancing. No ground or knife-edge counter weights permitted.
HEADS:

No angle plug - only straight plug heads only.
Vortec or 300 hp heads permitted.
Approved stock replacement heads permitted - Dart permitted.

Valves: 2.02" intake, 1.60" exhaust

BODY & CHASSIS:
Frame must be stock for make and model.
Wheelbase must be stock for make and model (½" tolerance).
May run racing springs, racing shocks and jack bolts.
NO tubular or adjustable A-frames permitted.
Steering must be stock for make and model.
Body must be stock, no fabricated or aftermarket bodies permitted.
May run aftermarket nosepiece. Back of car must be closed in.
Spoiler and braces may not exceed 6" or width of quarter panels.
Must have complete stock firewall and stock floor pans to rear of driver seat on both sides of car, must also have stock transmission and drive shaft tunnel.
Doors must be welded, strapped or bolted.
Fenders may be cut for tire clearance.
Must run stock bolt pattern on car (front and rear end).
WHEELS & TIRES:
Only steel wheels permitted, maximum width of 10".
Hoosier D30.
ONE BEAD LOCK WHEELS PERMITTED ON RIGHT REAR ONLY.
May run wide five wheels with steel adapter only.
REAR END:
Rear end may be locked.
Stock or 9" Ford permitted.
Trailing arms must remain stock, may cut top only.
Leaf spring cars must stay a leaf spring car, no interchanging of rear suspension.
BUMPERS:
Must be securely attached.
Tube bumpers must have round cap welded onto end to prevent sharp edges.
Must be track approved.
RADIATOR:
Any type allowed, must stay in front of car.
ENGINE:
Placement: original position for make and model.
NO high performance equipment allowed.
Stock replacement 4 valve relief pistons allowed (NO POP-UPS).
.060 bore permitted/.010 tolerance for wear.
Hydraulic camshafts NO ROLLER CAMS permitted (.488 lift maximum).
Solid lift cams permitted (.488 lift maximum).
HEADS:
Stock cast iron heads ONLY.
Vortec heads and 300 hp allowed.
No angle plug or high performance head allowed.
Steel valves only 1.94 intake/1.50 exhaust.
3/8" diameter screw in studs on guide plates permitted.
Stock valve job only: one on valves and three on heads.
NO PORTING, POLISHING, OR PORT MATCHING.
No angle cutting of head deck permitted.
Stock diameter valve spring for engine used, maximum wire diameter .192/ouside diameter 1.250.
V-6 Ford may run aluminum heads (3.8).
No 10-degree Ford heads permitted.

No more than 650 cfm/650 cc 4777 double pump.
May remove chock flap.

NO supercharger, turbo, or nitrous oxide allowed.
IGNITION:
Stock type coil.
Factory single point HEI distributor permitted.
NO ignition booster or MSD allowed.
After market HEI allowed.
FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH:
Stock for make and model.
Z-28 permitted.
No aluminum flywheel or racing clutch permitted.
STARTERS:
Any type starter permitted.
Car must start under own power.
TRANSMISSION:
Stock type 3, 4, or 5 speeds are permitted.
Automatic transmission permitted.
NO high performance transmissions allowed.
Must have one forward and one working reverse gear.
NUMBERS:
Must be 18" tall and on each door.
Must be visible and legible from scoring tower.

Any American or foreign 1968 or newer 4-cylinder car allowed except as stated: No trucks, convertibles, or station wagons.
Rear wheel drive cars only.
ENGINE:
No turbo or fuel injection cars.
No multi-carburetor engines.
No rotary, mid, rear engine, or cosworth engine cars.
Max .080 overbore, not to exceed 2500 cc.
All engines must be stock or as stated.
Aluminum cam gear or pulley allowed.
Any steel rods permitted.
Toyota 1600 and 1800 piston dome .235" max.
20R and 22R piston dome .125" max
Any wet sump oil pan.
HEAD:
Any stock production head.
Solid lift cam .425 max lift with .025 valve lash.
Hydraulic cams .480 with zero lash at valve.
No porting or polishing.
Competition 3 angle valve job permitted. Must not go below guide boss.
No hand blending under valve.
Stock diameter valves and springs.
Valve spring dampers permitted.
CARBURETOR:
Any 2 barrell.
No more than 1" spacer plates with thin gaskets.
EXHAUST:
Header permitted.
CLUTCH/FLYWHEEL:
Clutch, pressure plate must be stock.
Flywheel 16 lb min.
BRAKES:
Must be stock.
No brake adjusters.
No drilled rotors.
SUSPENSION:
Caster and camber plates permitted.
May cut lower A-frame for caster/camber adjustment.
Adjustable cups allowed.
Can tie frame together on top of floor pan only.
BODY:
Aluminum top and rear quarters permitted.
Boxing of interior allowed.
WHEELS:
Any 7" steel wheel or factory steel wheel.
Any offset and wheel spacers allowed.
TIRES:
60 or 70 series steel belted Radials only.
No racing retreads.
TRANSMISSION:
Must have all working gears.
REAR END:
No lightening of rear end gear.
